8 weeks post amputation

Koa continues to amaze us.  He is mastering going down the stairs and he flies going up.  We purchased a stroller for Koa so that he can save his energy for the beach.  He’s been tolerating riding in it around our block.  Two weeks ago, we got Koa in our neighbor’s pool to swim in preparation for getting him to the beach.  On June 24th, Koa returned to the beach for the first time since April.  He was a happy boy!  #teamkoastrong

  1. I can’t see your links 🙁 But I LOVE the Koa pics! We’re taking Fallon back to the beach in September, wanted to get her used to a wagon. A neighbor has one we can borrow to test it out. But I LOVE Koa’s stroller! Go Koa!! #KickCancersButt!!

We’re taking Fallon back to the beach in September. She has never been a swimmer, but used to be a serious wader. I hope she has half the fun Koa did!! We’ll be in the Finger Lakes later this month and plan to let her try out Seneca Lake.
            Go Team Koa!!!

  2. Koa is a ROCK STAR !!

We had the same leg amputated. Wishing you many more wonderful days ahead!!

  3. We’re doling out gold stars to pawesome Tripawd pawrents and you guys definitely get three! It’s wonderful to see you making little changes to your routine so that Koa can enjoy life as always. The stroller is a big investment but so helpful for a Tripawd, thank you for giving him a chance at staying with the pack and having fun with everypawdy. YAAAY!

The pure joy he shows when takingnthat roll in the sand just lit up my world!! This whole post lights up my world!!

And it takes a huge amountmof effort for him to swim in those waves on three. Quite amazing to watch! I bet he sleeps really well after his beach adventures! So glad you are all having such a magical time!

  7. Aloha Koa and pawrents,
Had to write and say, I can see you are in the Islands, I think maybe the North Shore? Koa – a strong warrior; he is so beautiful and brave. A very special animal. Can only imagine how much that magical sea water is helping him to heal. Imua, Koa! Go forward!! Sending you all prayers and best wishes-

    1. Aloha! Yes, we’re on the NS near Waimea Bay. We have a friend that lives in Mokuleia so it’s a short walk to the beach for Koa. Hoping to get him in the water again this weekend. We’re lucky to have a neighbor with a pool and they let him come over to swim. Koa is definitely a strong warrior!
